Jobber

Provides field service management software helping home service businesses schedule jobs, manage crews, invoice clients, and get paid faster.

Senior Product Designer

Jobber exists to help people in small businesses be successful. We work with small home service businesses, like your local plumbers, electricians, painters, and landscapers, to transform the way service is delivered through technology. With Jobber they can quote, schedule, invoice, and collect payments from their customers, while providing an easy and professional customer experience. Running a small business today isn't like it used to be—the way we consume and deliver service is changing rapidly, technology is evolving, and customers expect more. That's why we put the power and flexibility in their hands to run their businesses how, where, and when they want!

Our culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation has been recognized by Great Place to Work, Canada's Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and more. Jobber has also been named on the Globe and Mail's Canada's Top Growing Companies list, and Deloitte Canada's Technology Fast 50™, Enterprise Fast 15, and Technology Fast 500™ lists. With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, we've come a long way from our first customer in 2011—but we've just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers.

The team:

Jobber is on a mission to empower home service providers to run, grow, and optimize their businesses—transforming the way small businesses operate, scale, and achieve their ambitions. We're relentlessly customer-focused, embedding deep insights and advanced AI directly into our product to deliver exceptional, personalized experiences that drive meaningful results for our customers.

As part of the larger Product Development team on Customer Experience (CX) and a member of the wider Design Team, you'll work closely with Product Managers and Engineers to shape the first moments a new customer has with Jobber—from sign-up through their first experience in the product.

This team focuses on the earliest stages of the customer journey: sign-up, onboarding, and trial activation. Together, we're building experiences that help new customers quickly understand how Jobber can work for their specific business. By combining thoughtful design with AI-powered systems, we aim to create personalized product journeys that guide each customer toward the features and workflows that matter most to them.

Product Design at Jobber is decentralized, meaning you'll operate as a design leader embedded within a cross-functional product squad. The CX group plays a critical role in Jobber's growth, helping prospective customers discover value quickly and confidently as they begin exploring the product.

The role:

Reporting to the Director of Product Design and working closely with CX Design Leads, you will help shape Jobber's first-run experience—the critical early journey from sign-up to meaningful product discovery during the trial.

In this role, you'll design Growth experiences that help new customers quickly understand how Jobber can transform their business. You'll focus on the earliest moments in the customer journey: account creation, onboarding, feature discovery, and early product engagement.

A key part of this work involves partnering with teams building AI-driven systems that personalize the product experience. These systems help surface the right features, workflows, and guidance for each customer based on their business type, goals, and behavior in the product. Your work will help translate these intelligent systems into intuitive and trustworthy product experiences.

As a Senior Product Designer, you'll bring strong product thinking, design craft, and leadership to the team. You'll help define activation strategies, shape the first experience users have in the product, and raise the bar for thoughtful, high-quality product design across the CX group.

Your work will directly influence how thousands of new home service providers discover Jobber each year—and how quickly they realize the value of the platform.

As a Senior Product Designer, you will:

  • Design the end-to-end trial and activation experience, from sign-up through a customer's first successful interactions with Jobber.
  • Shape how new customers discover and understand the product, helping them explore key features and workflows during trial.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and AI teams to design personalized onboarding and discovery experiences.
  • Define how AI-powered recommendations, insights, and guidance show up in ways that feel helpful, transparent, and trustworthy.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative insights to understand new customer behavior and identify opportunities to improve early adoption.
  • Lead design work that connects marketing, sign-up, onboarding, and in-product experiences into a more cohesive journey.
  • Translate complex workflows into clear, approachable experiences for small business owners.
  • Create scalable design solutions using research, journey mapping, wireframes, interaction design, and polished UI.
  • Collaborate with Content Design and Design Systems to create clear guidance, useful product education, and cohesive patterns.
  • Advocate for high-quality design and contribute to raising the craft across the Customer Experience design team.
  • Mentor and collaborate with other designers, helping strengthen design thinking and customer empathy across the team.

You'll do well in this role if you:

  • Have 5+ years of experience designing SaaS products, ideally in growth, onboarding, activation, or other early product experiences.
  • Bring strong product thinking and can connect customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints to thoughtful design decisions.
  • Understand the early customer journey and can design experiences that help people discover value quickly.
  • Are comfortable with experimentation, testing, funnel thinking, and using product and behavioral data to improve activation outcomes.
  • Bring strong craft across UX, interaction design, and polished UI, with the ability to take work from research through to shipped product.
  • Are highly proficient in Figma and confident using modern design workflows (we use Figma, FigJam, ChatGPT, Cursor).
  • Know how to work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, AI teams, and Content Design to align stakeholders and deliver high-quality customer experiences.
  • Can shape product direction, not just execute against requirements, especially in ambiguous spaces where the path forward is still being defined.
  • Have experience, or a strong point of view, on designing personalized or AI-assisted product experiences in ways that feel helpful and trustworthy.
  • Can move with speed and good judgment, and stay scrappy when needed to make meaningful progress.
  • Are a strong communicator who can facilitate design reviews, challenge ideas constructively, and advocate for high standards.
  • Enjoy leading initiatives, mentoring other designers, and helping raise the bar for craft and customer empathy across the team.
  • Have a portfolio that demonstrates strong UX thinking, interaction design, and visual craft.
