What this job involves: We are seeking a skilled Facilities Support Technician for a client in the pharmaceutical industry. The Facilities Support Technician provides an essential role in maintaining the facility by keeping walls in pristine repair, performing light plumbing tasks such as repairing and replacing faucets, toilet parts, dishwashers and other water fixtures. Other daily responsibilities include furniture and equipment moves, escorting vendors, working in cleanrooms, and walking the facility to ensure everything is in working order. This position reports to the Sr Facilities Manager and works directly with the Soft Services Lead. This position requires managing day-to-day facility requests while maintaining the highest standards of security awareness, emergency preparedness, and Health & Safety compliance.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Handle daily facility requests and respond to trouble tickets efficiently
- Execute small works projects including skilled painting and patching of walls
- Perform furniture and equipment moves throughout the facility
- Conduct basic plumbing and mechanical repairs and maintenance
- Follow specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and management direction precisely
- Maintain constant security awareness and knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures
- Demonstrate unwavering commitment to safety protocols and risk management
- Small carpentry projects, patch and paint, lock and handle repairs, door closer adjustments
- Basic electrical work and light bulb replacements
- General janitorial duties and waste removal
- Vendor escort services and delivery coordination
- Equipment moves and space reconfigurations
- Risk assessments for assigned tasks
- Support Soft Services Lead and facilities team as needed
- All other duties and assigned tasks.
Required Qualifications:
- Skillful at painting and patching walls to professional standards
- Experienced in moving furniture and equipment safely and efficiently
- Basic plumbing and mechanical skills for routine maintenance
- Ability to follow specific SOPs and take direction effectively
- Strong security awareness and safety mindset
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing
- Customer-focused approach with cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Minimum 4 years' experience with strong DIY and carpentry skills
- 2-year degree in Building/Facilities Services OR 4 years' relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems (Preferred)
