As a Principal - Client Service Leader, you'll play a critical leadership role in our Cities & Places East region. You'll oversee major multidisciplinary projects, cultivate and grow key client relationships, and strengthen Jacobs' market presence across our priority segments. Your leadership will drive project excellence, elevate our client experience, and advance our strategic growth across Cities & Places.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the successful delivery of engineering, design, and project execution for complex projects across Municipal, Higher Education, Corporate Real Estate, Real Estate Development, and Healthcare markets.
  • Develop and oversee project scopes, schedules, budgets, proposals, commercial documentation, and delivery strategies.
  • Manage multidisciplinary project teams in collaboration with planning, architecture, engineering, and project management groups.
  • Serve as a primary interface with clients—building trust, ensuring project execution excellence, and maintaining strong communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure adherence to Jacobs' delivery frameworks, quality programs, safety requirements, and risk-management processes.
  • Develop pricing strategies, lead proposal development, and prepare high-quality responses to RFPs and RFQs that align with client needs and Jacobs' strategic goals.
  • Lead pursuit strategies and participate in interviews, presentations, and technical solutioning sessions.
  • Foster and expand client relationships across the Mid-Atlantic region with an emphasis on long-term account growth and market diversification.
  • Identify emerging opportunities within Municipal, Higher Education, Corporate Real Estate, Real Estate Development, and Healthcare market segments.
  • Collaborate with Jacobs leadership to develop go-to-market plans, account strategies, and growth initiatives.
  • Promote Jacobs' presence in the industry through active participation in professional organizations, regional associations, conferences, and speaking engagements.
  • Champion thought leadership that elevates Jacobs' brand and advances best practices across the built environment.
  • Stay current on regulatory, funding, and market trends impacting our priority sectors.
  • Mentor and guide early-career and mid-career engineering talent, supporting professional growth and technical excellence.
  • Actively participate in recruiting top talent to expand and strengthen our multidisciplinary regional team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusion across project teams and market groups.

Here's What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Architectural, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • 10+ years of project management and engineering leadership experience delivering complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a Design Lead, Engineering Lead, Project Manager, or Client Leader within one or more of the following markets: Municipal, Higher Education, Corporate Real Estate, Real Estate Development, or Health.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing forecasting, budgeting, risk, and commercial oversight.
  • Outstanding communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven capability to support business development and grow client accounts.

Ideally, You'll Also Have

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience developing and managing full project lifecycles, including planning, design, delivery, and startup/activation.
  • Familiarity with digital project delivery tools such as Revit, BIM360, Primavera, MS Project, or similar.
  • Established relationships with Mid-Atlantic regional clients or industry partners in our target markets.
  • A background in leading multidisciplinary pursuits, client strategy development, or account management.

The base salary range for this position is $200,000.00 to $300,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
