If this sounds like a good fit to you, we are seeking applicants for a Client Services Technician (CST) to join our Division of Child, Youth and Family Services in Pocatello. This position will support children and families that are involved with the Child Welfare System. The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. Any applicant offered employment in this position at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test. In addition, successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal history background investigation. Employment is dependent upon satisfactory results of the investigation.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Monitor client follow-through and achievement of goals and agreements.
  • Take and keep detailed progress notes.
  • Provide parents with coaching and intervene when necessary to keep children safe.
  • Monitor family and child visits and report observations.
  • Collaborate with teams on client services.
  • Transport clients to and from medical and therapeutic appointments.
  • Testify in court on observations.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position.

    • Good knowledge of home sanitation and safety. Typically gained by completion of a health or home economics course covering home sanitation and safety or home schooling or training covering home sanitation and safety.
    • Experience working with clients who may be behaviorally, socially, physically and/or mentally challenged. Typically gained by six months work experience in a hospital, nursing home, or similar environment, or as home healthcare provider, working with clients who are behaviorally, socially, physically, and/or mentally challenged.
    • Experience observing and recording clients' behaviors, treatment responses, and progress. Typically gained by six months work experience charting or tracking client information in a professional care setting or through employment as a home healthcare provider.
    • Ability to read and write English.
    • Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
    • Experience using ordinary home appliances and performing routine homemaking tasks. Typically gained by six months experience or completion of a home economics course.
    • A valid driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and meet eligibility requirements to drive a state vehicle.
