Program/Project Coordinator, Senior

The Broward County Aviation Department which manages the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and North Perry Airport (HWO - a general aviation facility) is seeking a motivated and experienced professional for the position of Program/Project Coordinator, Senior for the planning and programming of Airport Development Programs. This is an administrative work coordinating and administering large-scale programs and/or projects related to the overall development of FLL and HWO. This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities and issues through various means of communication and periodic meetings. The Program Project Coordinator, Senior will be responsible for the management of the Capital Improvement Program process, FDOT/FAA Grant reporting, capital project updates including budget and scheduling, financial liaison to several agencies, performance measures updates, analyzing the program/project cost tracking initiatives, and developing and implementing procedures for the procurement of Airport program/projects for the FLL and HWO. The purpose of this class within the organization is to administer large-scale programs and/or projects that have Airport-wide impact. This position works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business or public administration or closely related field. (One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.) Requires four (4) years of experience in a staff or administrative capacity managing special projects, programs or business operations appropriate to the area of assignment or closely related experience. A few areas of assignment will include developing and monitoring the programs budget and managing cost controls; assisting with administrative and financial responsibilities involving the capital budgetary processes of the airport; assisting with the preparation of the department budget; ensuring contractual procedures are followed and maintained; developing, monitoring, and updating the Capital Improvement Program to ensure the program budgets, schedules, and goals are achieved.

Special Certifications and Licenses Required: Project Management Professional (PMP). Certified Member (CM).

Preferences: Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance. Doctorate Degree in Business or closely related field Any Airport related FAA / AAE / ACI Certificate Related certificate or license in Project Management, Construction or related field Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), Geographic Information System Professional (GISP), American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) or Registered Architect (RA) ore related license 2+ years of experience in Aviation-specific environment 2+ years of experience in grant development with FAA, FDOT, MPO or related agencies 2+ years of experience at large hub airpor ts 2+ years of experience in FAA/Regulatory environment 2+ years of experience in PeopleSoft or similar enterprise Ability to write well and review technical documents and reports

Additional Information: All candidates must complete an extensive work history verification and criminal background check, including fingerprinting. Per the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49, Part 1542, all airport employees must undergo a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and a Security Threat Assessment (STA) in order to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge, as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Post-offer physical examination. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver's License with authority to drive a county vehicle for the duration of employment. Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge. All Aviation Department employees must possess the ability to interact courteously with the public, Airport/product vendors, contractors, managers and coworkers to maintain a professional work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes a positive work environment. Must have good customer service skills and the ability to provide solutions in a fast-paced environment, whether working independently or as part of a team. Must be analytical and detail oriented with good troubleshooting and problem-solving ability, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
