Clerical Position
Reporting directly to a County Clerk Supervisor, responsible for performing clerical duties that support the daily operations of the Williamson County Clerk's Office.
Examples of work performed include:
- Providing direct customer service either in person or on the telephone
- Collecting payments for court costs and managing front counter till
- Creating and maintaining various reports related to assigned division
- Creating and maintaining forms, worksheets, and informational materials
- Ensuring comprehensive filing systems are maintained and up to date
- Assisting in planning and executing special projects and events
- Assisting with policy and procedure updates
- Utilizing legal reference materials to perform research related to current laws and procedures
- Copying, filing, and auditing invoices
- Reviewing and processing court appeals documents
- Entering and verifying data within applicable databases and/or systems
- Submitting documents to assigned courts for approval
- Cross-training with office staff in other areas to ensure continuity of departmental operations
- Attending all meetings and trainings, as required
- Performing special duties as assigned
Criminal Assignment includes:
- Signing and processing subpoenas
- Issuing warrants for criminal offenses
- Performing transactions related to citations, warrants, pleas, booking sheets and time-served requests
- Receiving and processing payment of fees/fines, issuing receipts and recording dispositions
- Managing a cash drawer at high-volume window, balancing drawer and preparing deposits
- Recalling warrants and disseminating notifications

Physical Demands include:
- Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, visual examination of documents, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, standing and occasional lifting/carrying
Environmental Factors include:
- Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environment
Irregular Hours include:
- Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required
- May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency

Minimum qualifications include:
- High School Diploma OR equivalent
- One (1) year of clerical experience including cash handling and customer service
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Licenses and certifications are not required.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Prior experience working in a legal capacity
- Three (3) years of clerical experience including cash handling and customer service
- Bilingual (Spanish)
