Golf Course Customer Service Attendant

The City of Cupertino Parks and Recreation Department has positions open at Blackberry Farm Golf Course. Shifts are available from sunrise to sunset. These shifts will include weekdays, weekends, and holidays. This is a Part-Time Temporary Non-Benefited Position (maximum 995 hours per fiscal year).

The Golf Course Customer Service Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service at the Blackberry Farm Golf Course front counter including answering the telephone, counter reception, membership registration, and point-of-sale transactions. The Customer Service Attendant enforces the playing regulations set forth by the City, helps players in need of assistance on the golf course or adjacent patio area, works under general supervision with well-defined standards, rules and regulations, and performs other related duties as required.

Essential Duties

  • Collect cash fees, credit card sales, and keep accurate records of golfer's tee times and pay codes
  • Maintain the flow of players going off the first tee
  • Take phone reservations
  • Ensure sales records are accurate and match the log-in sheet
  • Clean returned rental equipment
  • Clean and restock of the patio area, golf shop, and restock restrooms
  • Provide a high level of customer service
  • Receive and process telephone calls and walk-in requests
  • Provide factual information regarding City and golf activities
  • Assist in implementing special events

Qualifications

Golf course experience preferred but not required. Ability to:

  • Understand and follow written and oral instructions
  • Be responsible, alert, courteous, and punctual
  • Manage time effectively, show initiative, and work independently
  • Work collaboratively with peers, supervisors, and customers in a team setting
  • Communicate effectively in person, over the telephone, and in writing
  • Be available to work weekends and evenings
  • Provide own transportation to and from work
  • Operate standard office equipment, including job related computer hardware, software applications, and telephones
  • Education and Experience: Must be a minimum of 16 years old and possess a valid American Red Cross CPR/AED certificate or similar certificate.
