Job Description

Pay Grade: M This position will manage a team of TANF policy specialists. Provide oversight for ODIS updates, Gateway defects and change requests. Ensure coverage for required policy meetings (internal and external). Provide oversight for policy inquiries (internal and external). Interpret and implement federal and state policy and serve as a TANF subject matter expert for legislative inquiries. Provide oversight for federal and state reporting. May participate in special projects. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Managing professional level assigned staff.
  • Interpreting and implementing federal and state policy.
  • Work collaboratively with different levels of leadership and staff, productively, effectively, and professionally.
  • Manage broad and complex subject matter as well as the staff who perform the duties within each subject area.
  • Manages human resource and employee relations functions.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationship with OFI district leadership, assures coordination of services, and increases public awareness and support.
  • Organize and monitor training as needed.
  • Ensures uniform interpretation of TANF Program policies and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of the Georgia Gateway system.
  • Assists with policy updates as needed.
  • Assists with establishing program goals, strategies and priorities.
  • Makes recommendations for policy/procedure development and/or revision and advocates for changes as appropriate.
  • Monitors area and local services for compliance and quality assurance.
  • Provide programmatic guidance to state, field and vendor staff.
  • Responds accurately and promptly to informational requests regarding the TANF Program, services and related issues.
  • Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned and statewide travel may be required.

Core Competencies

  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard software applications typically used in a corporate office environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university AND four (4) years of experience related to area of assignment.
  • OR
    • One (1) year of experience required at the lower level Busi Support Analyst 3 (GSP 132).

    Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over year basis.

    Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an approved, accredited college or university AND five (5) years of work experience in supervision.
    • Two (2) years of experience interpreting Federal and State policy.
