Description

Our department is responsible for planning, designing, funding, and overseeing large-scale infrastructure projects that enhance public facilities and services. The department manages project budgets, timelines, and compliance with regulations while ensuring that improvements align with community needs and strategic development plans, often works in coordination with other government agencies, engineering firms, contractors, and the public to implement projects that support economic growth and quality of life. An hourly salary range of $37.50 to $43.59 is anticipated for this position.

Examples Of Duties

The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are identified as those that are essential for an employee to perform.

• Manage large and/or complex water and sewer infrastructure and facility improvement projects from conception through completion by facilitating and overseeing space planning, stakeholder coordination, design, permitting, construction, and project closeout.
• Assist staff in all aspects of project implementation and execution, and general coordination, as needed. Coordinate work of consulting engineers, other municipal departments, and governmental agencies. Coordinate inter- and intra-governmental activities.
• Assist with planning, design, construction management, and general oversight for County-wide water and sewer projects to ensure they meet all specifications, codes and contract terms.
• Administer Qualifications Based Selection (QBS) process for Professional Architect/ Engineer Services. Facilitate the selection process and participate in scope and fee negotiations and define the terms of the contract agreements. Ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and as defined in the contract documents.
• Oversee bid phase and construction administration for ARPA funded projects.
• Establish effective working relationships with County officials, employees, contractors, consultants and the general public.
• Attend public meetings, minority outreach events, and Board of Commissioners' meetings as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Two years of experience in project management or construction administration.

Additional Information

Associate degree or higher is preferred. The candidate selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
