Technical Operations Leader

The Technical Operations Leader will be directly reporting to the Hub Manager and will play a strategic role to manage all resources and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' sites/properties. These activities contribute to maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing sold or existing products. The scope includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), managing maintenance facilities, warehouse operations, repair centers, and BOP activities. The Technical Operations Leader supports a Site Leads for managing daily hub operations, turbine output, and exemplifies excellence in leadership, safety, quality control, and financial oversight. The Technical Operations Leader, in guideline of the Hub Manager and CPM, partners closely with the customer and ensures alignment with GEV operational excellence.

The Technical Operations Leader will:

  • Work independently on the implementation of fault analysis and repair of wind turbine generators in Pakistan and abroad, including clarification of any client queries.
  • Coordinate parts planning and inventory management with the Warehouse Lead and Logistic Lead.
  • Planned preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of WTGs in coordination with the Global Quality Team.
  • Keep track of work orders (SRs) and timely debriefing of consumed material.
  • Organize and participate in weekly calls of Wind Farm Performance to keep Wind Farms KPIs in checks like RTS, On-Time Maintenance, LOTO Compliance, Availability, etc.
  • Develop the team Learning and Development program for enhancing skills and quality of work.
  • Closely work with the engineering team for fault troubleshooting and customer queries.
  • Adopt a customer-focused approach to build long-term relationships with customers to deliver business objectives and meet contractual requirements.
  • Serve as the specialist and contact person for technical components.
  • Be the POC for the Fleet Performance Team for the implementation of ongoing digital programs e.g. Salesforce, FieldWork NextGEN etc.
  • Manage the EHS scorecard of the site including team's EHS competencies.
  • Effectively manage EHS tools such as Fieldwork, Gensuite, Kahuna etc.
  • Lead operations within multi-site service hub ensuring weekly visits to each site; drive safety focus, continue to grow customer relationships, and engage and develop the team.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Hub Manager.

The Technical Operations Leader will bring:

  • B.Sc. in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics) from an accredited university or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as an Operation and Maintenance Lead of Wind Turbine Turbine Department of Wind Farm.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience inclusive of leadership and manpower management.
  • Good technical knowledge of Power System, Protection, Monitoring and Diagnostics, and SCADA for Generation and Transmission Industry segments.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions.
  • Financial acumen, knowledge of pricing, costing, and product accounting.
  • Ability to understand and improve complex processes in a cross-functional environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the hub; require overnights considering how sites are located in Pakistan.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license.

  • Advanced computer skills utilizing word and spreadsheet processing, e-mail programs, facility control and management systems, and computer diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.
  • Wind turbine or energy industry experience.
  • Advanced electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience, including use of hydraulic power tools.
  • Experience with heavy equipment required for facility maintenance with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements.
  • Able to work at heights and high level of physical fitness.
  • Structured worker with technical analytic abilities.
  • High degree of flexibility, highly motivated with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Team player, cooperative, interested in further development.
  • Confident personality.
  • Comprehensive writing skills to meet contractual reporting obligations, as required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability, willingness, and adaptability to take initiative and work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside of the Wind Hub.
