Join GEV EWS GIS Solutions as a Technical Delivery Manager, where you'll provide your expertise in sustained customer success and growth in the post-sales customer lifecycle. You'll associate with a team of GE Project Software Engineers, Partners and Contracted Technical SME's from Partners and Contractors assigned to the Project Team, developing project delivery strategy and delivering solutions against the scoped requirements to a high level of quality as per the Contract and Schedule. As a knowledge leader on Smallworld (PNI or EO) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), you'll have the unique opportunity to contribute and shape the future of our team.
You'll own the end-to-end responsibility on the software delivery technical element of projects to meet the contracted requirements, timeline and quality commitments.
Responsible for the documentation of requirements, schedule and WBS for any change requests within the project. Confirm the completion of deliverables against milestones and stage reviews.
Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in software engineering or related discipline. Proven experience in a senior technical role within a system integrator or software consultancy practice. Proven experience in defining and managing delivery teams. Proven experience in defining and assigning work packages. Proven experience in tracking technical delivery according to time, cost and scope. Experience in agile methodologies and DevOps tools. Extensive experience with Smallworld, Smallworld PNI or Smallworld Electric Office. Extensive experience in telco or utilities industries. Established project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Fluent in English. Availability for frequent travels to customer sites.
Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of software design and coding principles. Good understanding and hands-on experience of GE Small World (EO & PNI) suite. Experience working in an agile environment. Proficiency in software engineering tools and processes in general, specifically in object-oriented analysis, design and development (e.g. Magik, Python) and web technologies (Javascript, HTML5, CSS, AngularJS). Proficiency in database tools (e.g. Oracle/Oracle Spatial) and database modelling. Familiarity with versatile implementation options. Demonstrates knowledge on technical topics, such as caching, APIs, data transfer, scalability, and security.
