Director of Strategy & Execution
The Director of Strategy & Execution will operationalize Gartner's BTI strategy by leading and supporting strategic, cross-functional projects such as, but not limited to, process optimization, operating model re-design, best practice identification and deployment, strategic analytics and problem solving, and change management, often within larger corporate priority initiatives.
This role requires an exceptional leader who can foster genuine partnerships and engage in complex problem solving. This is a high visibility, high impact role and a great platform to make a disproportionate impact on our associates, clients, and Gartner's future success.
What You'll Do:
- Partner with Leaders across the organization to solve complex problems and identify improvement opportunities to improve BTI processes and operating model.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and analyses to drive fact-based decision making that improves our operations and overall performance.
- Own execution of key cross-functional initiatives aligned to high priority business objectives, leading the day to day program management as either tracks within a program or independent projects, and with strong ownership of timelines, quality, and outcomes.
- Design and roll out pilots to validate feasibility and ensure high quality execution.
- Drive change management efforts, leveraging change channels (e.g., advisory networks and focus groups) and tailoring and overseeing effective communications and collateral.
- Influence diverse and tenured groups of stakeholders across BTI, Services, Sales, Analytics teams, Learning & Development, IT, Communications and other teams to unite behind a common vision, objective, and plan.
What You'll Need:
- Exceptional qualitative and quantitative problem-solving skills: proven track record of solving complex problems, thinking creatively and using data to tell a story to influence senior level stakeholders. Ability to analyze large datasets and translate raw information into actionable insights.
- Experience: 7+ years' of progressive experience and responsibility in strategy, business operations, sales operations, management consulting or other similar roles involving operations, analytics and change management.
- Champion mindset: willing to challenge the status-quo, a consistent go-getter and driven to only accept the best for the business. Able to work-through highly ambiguous problem statements.
- Outstanding project management and organizational skills: detailed oriented. Ability to run complex projects, meet deadlines and prioritize workloads, while working with cross-functional partners. Proven track record of success in fast-paced environments with competing and continuously evolving priorities. Strong balance between strategic view and operational execution.
- Strong leadership, collaboration and influencing skills; ability to create alignment on objectives, vision and plan in a fast paced, heavily matrixed organization using negotiation skills, logic and a strong understanding of various social styles. Ability to manage stakeholders.
- Strong interviewing/focus group and surveying skills: ability to identify best practices, barriers, opportunities and to synthesize those with relative importance and make recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills: structured, engaging and compelling; can clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences; demonstrated ability to develop and deliver compelling executive-level presentations.
- Very strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required. MBA or other Master's degree preferred.
