Equinix is recruiting a Customer Operations & Critical Facilities Datacenter Apprentice for one of our sites based in the Paris region (Courbevoie, Pantin, Aubervilliers).
As a Customer Operations & Critical Facilities Datacenter Apprentice, your main mission will be to bring to life the contracts signed by the sales force with Equinix customers, through the management of their physical installation in the Datacenter. Installation of customer equipment in their racks, power and fiber optic cabling. Reception/certifications of copper/fiber optic connections.
You will also need to operate, manage, perform repair and maintenance tasks on our Datacenter infrastructure. Ensure the follow-up of maintenance providers, HVAC systems, UPS and non-critical power systems, fire suppression devices, cooling fluid and fuel management, and cold production, and provide support to suppliers for all related matters. All power supply structures ranging from high voltage to the end of the chain to the client server supplies are our responsibility.
Tâches / responsabilités principales
1. Support Clients and Installations
• Handle all customer support requests transmitted by the Service Desk
• Perform troubleshooting activities on customer copper and fiber links as well as on our own platforms.
• Contribute to the installation work (racks, connectivity, strong currents) of servers.
• Perform cabling services ('Cross-Connect').
• Contribute to maintaining optimal air circulation conditions in customer rooms
• Propose improvements in urbanization, cabling organization or on any component of the installed client configurations
2. Exploitation, Maintenance and Continuity of Service
• Execute daily technical checks and diagnostics of infrastructure equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance of equipment
• Perform electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic inventories
• Ensure the implementation and supervision of external companies, verification of their qualifications, methods, and tools
• Participate in repair and corrective maintenance operations
• Detect malfunctions, develop a diagnosis
• Write intervention reports to ensure follow-up of operations (GMAO)
• Understand and apply control and test rules and procedures
• Propose and implement technical and energy improvements
