Insurance Account Manager
Entrata's insurance account manager serves as a licensed insurance subject matter expert for clients and internal teams, providing guidance on insurance products, coverage structures, compliance-sensitive questions, and escalated account matters. This role is central to helping clients evaluate and optimize insurance solutions that align to their operating model, while also supporting new business opportunities and partnering closely with internal stakeholders and carrier partners to drive strong client outcomes.
The position is designed for someone with deep insurance knowledge, strong judgment, and the ability to translate complex insurance concepts into practical, business-oriented guidance. The insurance account manager is expected to focus primarily on high-value consulting, carrier coordination, escalated insurance issues, and portfolio optimization, while working in partnership with other teams that support broader implementation and administrative execution.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders to support effective insurance program management and service.
- Serve as the primary contact for escalated insurance items for assigned accounts, including claims, placements, billing-related insurance issues, policy changes, coverage questions, and other complex matters requiring licensed insurance expertise.
- Conduct insurance consultations with prospective and existing clients to assess needs, advise on product fit, and recommend appropriate program structures across offerings such as master policy, deposit alternative, and homebody guaranty.
- Quote premiums and support pricing strategy, revenue projections, proposal language, and insurance positioning during the sales cycle.
- Support sales efforts by participating in client calls, conducting insurance demos, answering technical insurance questions, and helping identify upsell or expansion opportunities within existing portfolios.
- Collaborate with sales, customer success, product, billing, and implementation partners to support new business, retention, and ongoing portfolio performance.
Essential functions:
- Submit carrier applications, coordinate policy issuance, and partner with carriers on escalated policy, placement, and coverage matters.
- Escalate and manage claims issues with carriers and support resolution of coverage disputes and other complex insurance matters.
- Provide guidance on insurance program changes, including coverage tiers, pricing updates, and transitions between blanket, marketed, opt-in, and in-lease program models.
- Support internal teams as an insurance sme by answering coverage and compliance questions, providing training and education, and helping ensure consistent application of insurance policies and processes.
- Review accounts proactively to identify opportunities for updates, coverage enhancements, retention support, and broader program optimization.
- Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal insurance requirements, maintain required insurance licensing, and complete continuing education as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency, scalability, and client satisfaction.
- Travels domestically for client meetings, industry events, and company gatherings as required to maintain business relationships and achieve objectives.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively by meeting deadlines and managing workload efficiently.
- Maintain professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
Minimum qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven experience in insurance account management, client consulting, or related insurance roles. Strong understanding of insurance policies, program structures, and regulatory requirements across commercial and personal lines.
- Demonstrated ability to advise clients on coverage options, program fit, and insurance-related business decisions.
- Experience working with carrier partners on policy issuance, claims escalation, coverage questions, or dispute resolution.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex insurance concepts clearly to both clients and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in handling escalated insurance matters.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in crm software and google suite.
- Active insurance license.
Education requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
Salary: $62,300 - $99,400 a year.
This role is eligible for commission.
This band covers the full base compensation range for this role. Your offer within this range will depend on factors like experience, skills, and internal equity.
