Job Overview:
The Value Analysis Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting and coordinating value analysis initiatives across hospitals, service lines, and ambulatory operations within Deaconess Health System. This position is dedicated to optimizing the selection, utilization, and procurement of medical products, services, and equipment to deliver high-quality patient care while effectively managing costs.
The Value Analysis Team serves as a strategic resource for the entire system, providing data-driven insights, ensuring contract compliance, and promoting system-wide product alignment. While supporting all departments, the team plays a pivotal role in guiding the Value Analysis Steering Committee and Subcommittees by delivering the research and analysis necessary for informed, evidence-based decision-making. Key responsibilities include:
- Proactive Data Collection and Analysis β Continuously monitor organizational spend, contract adherence, and product utilization across all departments to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities. Leverage data visualization tools to translate complex datasets into actionable insights that shape committee priorities and value-driven initiatives.
- Benchmarking and Opportunity Scanning β Conduct ongoing market research and benchmarking against industry standards and peer institutions to uncover gaps, flag pricing disparities, and assess supplier performance. Use this intelligence to proactively identify cost-reduction and value-enhancement opportunities.
- Strategic Stakeholder Engagement β Actively engage with clinical leaders, procurement staff, and department heads to surface unmet needs, uncover inefficiencies, and align purchasing decisions with both operational and strategic system goals.
- Insightful Reporting and Communication β Develop targeted reports, dashboards, and briefing materials that highlight key findings, drive clarity, and accelerate decision-making. Present complex information in a concise, accessible format to support committee engagement and timely action.
- Forward-looking Recommendations β Deliver data-informed recommendations for product standardization, contract renegotiations, and consolidation strategies that reduce variation and enhance system valueβwhile maintaining clinical integrity and patient care quality.
- Outcome Measurement and Continuous Refinement β Establish feedback loops and performance indicators to measure the financial and operational impact of committee decisions. Use these learnings to refine value analysis processes and continuously advance the team's impact on cost and quality outcomes.
Required Certification/License/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Five (5) years healthcare, supply chain, contracting, and project management experience preferred.
