Sales Support Representative

Supports the customer-facing sales force through the complete rhythm of sales, from lead generation to order closure. This role executes, supports, and improves sales and branch operations activities under limited supervision, contributing to achievement of Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets across CCC, CTT, and Retail lines of business while supporting focus products, Mitwa activation, and fleet business growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to incoming customer calls and emails, qualifying enquiries, and routing qualified leads to the appropriate sales professionals.
  • Compiling budgetary quotes for simple to complex requirements by gathering technical data, lead times, and customer-specific information for the customer-facing sales team.
  • Participating in customer visits, meetings, and events and making decisions where standard procedures are not clearly defined.
  • Receiving and processing customer orders, issuing order acknowledgements, invoices, and shipping notices for simple to complex transactions.
  • Communicating order status, inventory availability, and related information to the customer-facing sales force, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Resolving customer issues directly where applicable and coordinating with internal teams for resolution, including shipment- and after-sales-related concerns.
  • Periodically reviewing and reporting inventory and stock levels; initiating corrective actions and creating replenishment orders as required.
  • Actively supporting branch personnel in retail sales activities across varying levels of complexity.
  • Supporting execution of sales initiatives aligned with branch KPIs including AOP achievement across CCC, CTT, and Retail, focus product performance, Mitwa activation, and fleet business growth.
  • Adhering to Cummins sales processes, systems, and compliance requirements.

External qualifications and competencies include:

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education, or equivalent experience as permitted by applicable regulations.
  • This position may require licensing or authorization to comply with export control or sanctions regulations.

  • Integrates Customer Perspective: Uses customer insights to improve sales effectiveness and revenue outcomes.
  • Sense Making: Analyzes information from multiple sources to understand customer needs and support effective solutions.

Additional responsibilities unique to this position include:

  • Significant relevant work experience or specialized skills gained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
  • Prior experience in sales support, inside sales, branch operations, or customer service roles is preferred.
  • Exposure to retail, fleet, or multi-line-of-business sales environments is an advantage.
