Scientist - Technical Operations
This role supports the discovery, development, and progression of new medicines for unmet medical needs from early research to clinical development and commercialization. Responsibilities include executing experiments, conducting scientific analyses, maintaining accurate research documentation and ensuring that products meet clinical safety standards.
The position contributes to the design and execution of experimental and manufacturing processes, supports technology transfer activities, and performs testing across development stages to ensure effective process control. Collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory stakeholders is essential to ensure compliance, support program reporting, and advance project objectives. The role also assists in directing technical activities, supporting project and portfolio evaluations, and contributing to integrated strategies that enable efficient progression and decision-making throughout the development lifecycle.
Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Provide scientific and technical expertise to advance technology platform capabilities and support the achievement of project objectives.
- Support research and development activities at both global and local levels to ensure alignment, steady progress, and successful project delivery.
- Facilitate collaboration with other CSL sites and external partners to promote knowledge exchange and strengthen operational effectiveness.
- Apply advanced practical knowledge in relevant scientific fields to support experimental design, execution of technical work, and interpretation of data.
- Work independently under general supervision to meet operational targets and contribute directly to team and departmental outcomes.
- Address challenging technical or operational issues that may require an understanding of broader project or organizational factors.
- Support colleagues within the job area by clearly communicating scientific findings, established policies, and best practices.
Job Specifications / Requirements
- Bachelor's or postgraduate degree and/or substantial experience in a relevant scientific discipline.
- At least 3 years of laboratory experience with training in a relevant technical field, such as molecular and cellular biology, analytical biochemistry, or related areas.
