Head Of Client Services

Are you a commercially driven sales professional with a passion for fiction publishing? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can influence, collaborate and deliver growth? If so, this is your opportunity to take a leading role in shaping the future of Sourcebooks and Canelo at DK.

We're looking for a highly motivated Sales professional to be the primary point of contact for both Sourcebooks (in the UK and Europe) and Canelo. In this role, you'll own and deliver the sales strategy, lead a dedicated team and work closely with colleagues across marketing, publicity, sales and inventory to maximise opportunities.

This is a chance to have a real impact. You'll be driving growth, increasing market share, and working directly with senior stakeholders at Sourcebooks, Canelo and DK. It's a seat at the table and the opportunity to be part of something significant.

What you'll be doing:

  • Acting as the key liaison between Sourcebook and DK's internal teams
  • Leading sales and marketing strategies to grow sales across the relevant territories and market channels
  • Managing and motivating the team to achieve ambitious sales targets
  • Building strong customer relationships and identifying new opportunities across channels and markets
  • Supporting sales teams in pitching books and developing customer-focused plans
  • Working with marketing to create impactful customer campaigns and maximise sell-in and sell-through
  • Travelling to key markets and representing Sourcebooks at trade events, author signings and bookfairs
  • Ensuring profitable sales, achieving margin targets, and keeping ahead of competitors

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience selling commercial fiction and growing lists in existing or new markets
  • Can balance big-picture vision with practical delivery, spotting opportunities and finding creative solutions
  • Brings a growth mindset, with strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Is agile, flexible and comfortable juggling competing demands in a fast-moving environment
  • Has a natural ability to forge strong relationships that inspire collaboration and drive business outcomes
  • Communicates clearly and confidently, acting as a conduit between client publishers and internal teams
  • Leads and develops teams, setting goals and creating a supportive environment where people can thrive
  • Conducts themselves with professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail

This is a unique opportunity to influence a major publishing partnership, deliver real growth and work alongside senior decision makers. You'll gain exposure across the business, collaborate with talented colleagues, and play a central role in shaping success for both Sourcebooks and Canelo.

If you're a confident sales leader who's ready to seize this opportunity, we'd love to hear from you. Closing date for applications: 17 October 2025.

We have a range of benefits to reflect our commitment to our people, some of which are:

  • 25 days paid holiday entitlement in year one, plus bank holidays
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Volunteering policy and charity matching
  • Employee assistance programme
  • 60% discount on company books
  • Cycle to work scheme and discounted gym membership
  • Flex Fridays (1pm Finish*)
  • Shopping discounts
  • Up to 30 days remote working from abroad*

And we plant a tree for every new employee to our business.
