Director Strategic Account Implementation

Position is responsible for successful strategic development and implementation of a client or a group of clients with a strong focus on client engagement and collaboration. Accountable for maintaining client relationships to provide effective communication and leadership to ensure overall customer satisfaction in accordance with customer expectations and optimize operational performance.

• Liaising with clients to build day-to-day and strategic operational relationships and setting and carrying out account growth and retention strategies.

• Coordinate internal company resources to achieve business objectives, maintain account satisfaction, and ensure that the company's specialty services support client needs while achieving acceptable margins.

• Assess scope of work, identify opportunities for value add and business growth.

• Map business processes to provide clarity in expectations and identify risks and opportunities to deploy the most effective processes/tools.

• Utilize project management skills to develop and manage project plans by identifying stakeholders, critical path items, timelines, and dependent tasks.

• Establish, monitor, and manage performance metrics through root cause/corrective action practices to facilitate the successful implementation of new business.

• Provide oversight regarding the development of Standard Operating Procedures and employee training on requirements.

• Follow implementation principles to re-evaluate existing business to optimize client success and operational performance as applicable.

• Provides strategic direction, support and coaching to team members

• Works to develop employees' skills, evaluate performance, provide feedback, and collaborate with Human Resources on resolution of employee relation issues.

• Utilize effective communication or negotiation skills, employing diplomacy and sensitivity to ensure projects are effectively communicated and resolve critical or escalated issues.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrates effective negotiation and closing techniques

• Excellent organization and problem solving skills

• Functions well both independently and in a team setting

• Proficient in both Excel and Microsoft Word

• Experienced in all areas of freight forwarding, transportation, logistics and supply chain operations.

• Advanced proficiency in project management methodologies with a focus on developing solution driven strategy plans to achieve goals, implementing business requirements analysis and testing processes, and identifying timeline constraints, and risks.

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of work experience.

• Minimum 10 years of related experience

• At least 15 years of industry experience preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience required

Professional certification may be required in some areas
