IT Technician, Field Services

As an IT Field Services Technician, you will provide desktop and computing technical assistance and support for incoming service requests/incidents related to networked computer systems, software, and hardware at our Sullivan Park Campus in Corning, New York. You will participate in the deployment, support and maintenance of equipment, applications and/or services for both IT and the potential for Lab Machines. You will possess an aptitude for working with Microsoft-based Windows applications and Office suites, and will rely on internal training, previous knowledge, and informed judgment to identify, diagnose, and resolve or route tickets accurately and in accordance with documented processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve user problems with hardware, software and/or services for desktop and potentially lab computing equipment
  • Identify recurring issues, document and escalate to appropriate personnel
  • Represent a technical bridge between technology groups and the Business
  • Follow existing processes and use standard methodologies to carry out assigned tasks
  • Participate on cross-technology teams
  • Act as an escalation point for desktop technicians
  • Participate on projects and perform Smart-hands duties as defined

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Associates degree in a related field (minimum preferred)
  • 3+ years of IT or related experience
  • Advanced technical troubleshooting; possessing the ability to think critically and solve problems
  • The ability to collaborate and engage with Business stakeholders
  • Ability to reach out across the organization and communicate with people at different levels, with diverse needs and agendas; related capabilities include facilitation and team skills
  • Strong bias for action and an ability to deliver results despite a complex and fluid environment
  • Demonstrate a willingness to go the extra mile and take on the things that need to be done while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Demonstrate literacy in MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and is familiar with standardized IT Tools such as ServiceNow, NexThink, PowerBI, etc.
  • Ability to function effectively in stressful situations/circumstances
  • Ability to work in a close team environment/strong team player/ability to work for multiple project leaders/multiple projects should the need arise

This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $48,691.00 - $66,951.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
