Job Summary

The Sr. Onboarding Account Manager is a strategic leader responsible for driving client success and maximizing the value of Foodbuy's GPO program. This role oversees the onboarding and integration of mid-to-large accounts, ensuring seamless transitions and long-term growth. Acting as a trusted advisor and ambassador of Foodbuy, the Senior Manager leads cross-functional initiatives, influences executive stakeholders, and drives measurable outcomes across procurement, supply chain, and operational excellence. A strong analytical mindset is essential, as this role requires the ability to read reports, interpret complex data sets, and translate insights into actionable strategies that enhance client performance and program value.

Responsibilities

Strategic Client Onboarding & Engagement

  • Lead end-to-end onboarding for high-impact accounts, from contract execution through full program integration.
  • Develop and execute customized strategic onboarding plans aligned with client goals and Foodbuy's value proposition.
  • Establish executive-level relationships and influence decision-making to accelerate adoption and compliance.
  • Promote Foodbuy technologies (e.g., MPower) and ensure full utilization across client teams.
  • Maintain CRM documentation and provide timely, strategic updates to internal and external stakeholders.

Performance Optimization & Growth

  • Drive key performance metrics (Spend, VA, CUR, RoR) to exceed onboarding targets within 90 days of go-live.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings, rebate growth, and sustainability.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews and monthly financial performance meetings with client leadership.
  • Analyze purchasing behaviors, identify leakage, and develop corrective action plans.

Project & Change Management

  • Oversee multiple complex onboarding projects with competing deadlines and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Lead structured weekly cadence calls with clients to maintain momentum and accountability.
  • Elevate risks and roadblocks proactively, providing resolution strategies and executive visibility.
  • Champion change management initiatives to support client adoption and long-term success.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with internal SMEs (Category, Culinary, Sourcing, Distribution) to deliver tailored procurement solutions.
  • Build strategic partnerships with external suppliers and distributors to enhance program value.
  • Influence internal teams to align on client priorities and deliver seamless execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or certifications in business, supply chain, or project management preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in senior-level client relationship management, customer success, or account management.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale onboarding and transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret financial and operational reports, analyze data trends, and translate insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Deep understanding of GPOs, supply chain, and procurement services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PowerPivot); CRM experience required.
  • Highly organized, analytical, and results-driven.
