Client Relationship Manager - Associate Director

Cognizant is hiring a Client Relationship Manager - Associate Director to form an integral part of the continued rapid growth of Cognizant's Swiss Insurance Unit, expanding our global service portfolio from Consulting, Technology and Outsourcing services for large accounts in Switzerland. Reporting directly to the Insurance Client Partner and based in Zurich, this opportunity features a hybrid work model that enables flexibility. Additionally, the role offers significant opportunities for professional development and advancement within Cognizant's Sales Leadership Team.

The Client Relationship Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the commercial operations of Cognizant's business. Serving as the primary contact for assigned clients, the CRM supports and reports directly to the Client Partner, assuming ownership of the day-to-day management and performance of designated accounts. This includes overseeing account activities and taking responsibility for the profit and loss (P&L) of these accounts.

A core responsibility of the CRM is to drive growth and generate demand within assigned accounts. By fostering innovation and implementing proactive initiatives, the CRM works to ensure a consistently positive client experience. Furthermore, the CRM supports delivery teams in enhancing the backlog, optimizing resource allocation, and effectively navigating changes, all to guarantee that client expectations are consistently met.

Success in this role is measured by several key metrics, including margin, revenue, signings, client satisfaction, and employee retention. Through focused account management and a commitment to client-centric solutions, the CRM contributes significantly to both the growth and operational effectiveness of the business.

What are you looking for?

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with existing client stakeholders, while proactively working to expand the professional network within the assigned territory.
  • Drive growth by gaining a thorough understanding of each client's business, key challenges, and strategic priorities, then collaborating with them to co-create impactful and transformative solutions.
  • Lead the preparation and execution of RFPs and proactive bids, focusing on contract renewals, extensions, and expansion opportunities within current engagements.
  • Monitor insurance industry trends that are relevant to clients' businesses and proactively present new ideas and solutions. Leverage Cognizant's successful business cases from other geographies and tap into the expertise of the Industry Solution Group and Consulting teams.
  • Act as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, taking responsibility for driving backlog growth by managing renewals and extensions for ongoing engagements.

What are we looking for?

  • Over ten years' experience in client-facing roles within the IT services or offshore outsourcing industry.
  • At least five years sales experience working with insurance clients, with a well-established network across major Swiss insurance accounts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing client P&L, including comprehensive reporting and metric analysis for assigned accounts.
  • Skilled at engaging with all levels of an organisation, with an exceptional ability to influence and communicate effectively with business stakeholders, including those at C-suite level.
  • Proactive approach to building connections within the wider ecosystem—vendors, service providers, and software companies—to deliver global, multi-tower solutions.
  • German speaker with excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Embodies a growth mindset and leads through influence, consistently engaging subject matter experts to drive transformative change.

Preferred Experience

  • University degree (Bachelor's or Master's level).
  • Demonstrates a proven ability to drive new business and successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibits strong attention to detail, ensuring effective management of all aspects of complex assignments.
  • Possesses strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to identify solutions to business challenges with organisation-wide impact.
  • Shows adaptability and effectiveness when working across diverse corporate settings and engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
