Technical Support Specialist

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a dedicated and proficient Technical Support Specialist to provide essential support for mission-critical IT infrastructure, systems, and users within a high-impact government program. The Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Technical Support Specialist is responsible for configuration and operation of required equipment for the support of LINK 16, LINK 11 and Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) interface connectivity with operational and training units.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide Tactical Data Link (TDL) support to TTGL in the configuration, management, control and integration of multi-link network systems in support of Fleet Synthetic Training (FST).
  • Provide technical support, coordination, planning, and execution in bridging multi-tiered TDL architecture during Group Commander (FST-GC), Joint (FST-J), and Sustainment (FST-S) Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) events, Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) exercises and other Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) distributed training event to support the Fleet Response Training Plan (FRTP).
  • Demonstrate a general understanding of NGC Gateway Manager, TDACS, ADSI, LMMT, and JSAF.
  • Coordinate integration, engineering, installation, and deployment support for the planning and execution of exercises.
  • Collect and record for later production in the modeling, analysis and experimentation venues items as common operating pictures from JTIDS LINK 16/11, Navy Tactical Data System and real-time data links.
  • Plan, implement and monitor single or multi-link architecture in a Carrier Strike Group, Expeditionary Strike Group, Carrier Strike Force or Naval exercise or operation and understand the impact of the designed architecture on the Common Tactical Picture and Common Operational Picture.
  • Provide the knowledge to supervise the initialization, monitoring, troubleshooting of Link-11 and Link-16 systems, the utilization of collaborative planning tools, as well as the skills needed to maintain a tactical picture, monitor link operations, change system configurations, and maintain voice communications.
  • Interface with NSWC staff to determine modeling, analysis, and experimentation Common Operating Picture (COP)/Data Collection requirements and assist in making the most use of the data.

What You Must Have:

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Candidate must have a U.S. citizen with active Secret clearance.
  • Candidate must have active military duty experience as an Operations Specialist (OS) Tactical Data Coordinator (TDC)/Tactical Information Coordinator (TIC) or an Electronics Technician with Data Link Ready Response Team experience.
  • Candidate must have experience in C4I systems.
  • Candidate must have experience with LINK 11 and LINK 16.
  • Candidate must have experience with Department of Defense Security Technical Implementation Guidelines.
  • Candidate must have strong technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Candidate must have the ability to read and digest technical information.
  • Candidate must have the ability to troubleshoot technical issues within multiple systems.
  • Candidate must have the ability to visualize overall view of systems and conceptualize and document creative solutions.
  • Candidate must have strong customer focus, including the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities.
  • Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Candidate must have experience installing release upgrades.

Physical Requirements:

Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
