Assistant Aviation Support Operations Manager (USN) – Marshall Islands

This position is tasked with performing management functions including assisting with the coordinating, directing, controlling, and scheduling of the following functions: cargo services, passenger services, airfield management, safety, and flight operations.

This position will report to the Aviation Support Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.
  • Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
  • Assist Manager with running daily air operations of two airfields and eight remote helipads. Areas of Responsibility include but are not limited to:
    • Air Cargo Services: Loading, Unloading, Planning, Palletizing, Inspecting, Storing (HAZMAT/Load Planning)
    • Passenger Services: Manifesting, Weight and Balance, Scheduling (GATES and GDSS2)
    • Airfield Management: Airfield Inspections, BASH (Bird Air Strike Hazard), Airfield Planning, Airfield Safety, Airfield Driving, etc.
    • Flight Operations: Base operations, aircraft dispatching/following, filing flight plans, flight schedules, etc.
  • Assist in Managing a multi-national workforce of 50+ personnel with a servant leader mentality.
  • Establish Standard Operating Procedures, Policy, Work Instructions for Aviation Section.
  • Meet contractual requirements per Performance Work Statement and Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL)
  • Use Army, Air Force and Other regulations in execution of duties.
  • Duties will involve working outdoors with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions including frequent dust storms, and high temperatures up to 130F degrees in the summer months.
  • Must be able to work overhead with arms raised for extended periods.
  • Scheduled work hours up to 72 hours per week.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have computer skills and be able to operate a variety of computer programs.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license from their home country with validity for 12 months from on-site employment date.
  • Must maintain a valid passport from their home country with validity for 12 months from on-site employment date. Passport must have a minimum of 6 blank pages prior to OCONUS mobilization.
  • Must satisfy the USARPAC Force Health Protection Guidance medical requirements for INDOPACOM prior to OCONUS mobilization, must be able to maintain a Medically Qualified (MQ) rating on an annual basis.
  • Must be CAC eligible and able to gain and maintain authorized entry onto US military installations.

Additional Required Qualifications

  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in air operations (Cargo, PAX Services, Airfield ops, etc.). Preferably in a military/government contracting environment.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Familiarity with Cargo Procedures, PAX Procedures, Airfield Management.
  • Experience Managing Multi-National Workforce.
  • Possess Intermediate Microsoft Office software experience to include Outlook, Excel, Access and Word.
  • Valid drivers’ license from Home of Record.
  • Valid Passport.
  • Strong, professional, oral and written English communication skills.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree Preferred. Aviation Major Preferred.
  • Preferred Certifications: HAZMAT Certification, Load Planning Certificate, Airfield Management (USAF/AAAE).
  • Experience using GATES, GDSS2 preferred.
  • Security Vetting: Must possess an active DOD or DOS Secret security clearance and maintain eligibility for the duration of the contract.
