Help Desk System Administrator

Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Global team, is engineering, developing and integrating new capability for the Missile Defense System that currently protects the United States and its allies. The team consists of many small agile teams that work together in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Our team is also responsible for tasks such as Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security and enhancing other critical, leading-edge missile defense technologies.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Help Desk System Administrator to join our team in Colorado Springs. This role focuses on providing help desk support for C2BMC Global customers by troubleshooting and remedying a wide variety of technical issues on both Linux and Windows systems. Typical duties include configuring and managing Linux and Windows Operating systems to include implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance; installing software; applying and enforcing security policies using windows group policy and automation tools such as Ansible and PowerShell; and deploying and maintaining virtual machines in a complex, hyperconverged infrastructure.

This position requires a government security clearance at the Top Secret level; you must be a US Citizen for consideration. This position is located at Schriever, Space Force Base 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, CO and is 100% onsite. This position may involve around 10% travel to our customer sites throughout the U.S.

As leader of the C2BMC team, Lockheed Martin directs a partnership of highly responsive industry leaders developing and fielding the backbone of America's missile defense. Together, this national team supports the design, development, test, integration and fielding of hardware and software elements that enable the Missile Defense System (MDS) to function effectively and continually. As a C2BMC-Global Team member, you will also have the opportunity to interface with our key customers in the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and you will collaborate with a team of technical professionals including software and systems engineers, architects, and our project engineering team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Final TOP SECRET clearance is required prior to starting.
  • Must possess DoD 8140 IAT Level II compliant certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE or other certs such as CISSP or CASP. If you don't possess the certification, you must be able to obtain the certification within 60 days of starting.
  • Experience with system administration in both Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues via phone, IM/Chat, and other collaborative methods.
  • Familiarity with a scripting language, such as PowerShell, Bash or Python, and/or automation tools, such as Ansible.

Desired Skills:

  • Eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience with using a help desk ticketing system
  • Ability to develop and follow documentation
  • Experience supporting users in an enterprise-level system
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining Ansible playbooks
  • Prior experience with a Hyperconverged on-prem cloud platform

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Top Secret
