Desktop Support Technician

IT Support

This position will provide IT support for our client in Cedar Rapids. Their labs serve as a workspace for a variety of engineering activities. The client landscape includes a variety of current and legacy technology including; Windows, Red Hat, Ubuntu, Solaris systems and accompanying hardware. Lab systems adhere to strict Government regulations and team members must operate in accordance with Corporate policies.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Software & hardware support
• Systems maintenance
• Systems upgrades
• Technical implementation reviews with customer and peers
• Knowledge documentation & review
• Identify gaps in process and propose ideas to improve efficiency
• Infrastructure support of small / local environments
• Coordinating cross-functional work activities with peer groups
• Customer communications in regards to systems outages and maintenance activities

Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Required Qualifications: Government Security Clearance is a nice to have but not required. Candidate should have at least 2+ years med/large enterprise experience in at least two of the following: Client computer hardware support, Customer service, Windows (XP or newer OS)

Preferred Experience: Linux Operating Systems

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
