You will serve as the Commanding Officer's primary advisor on matters concerning the security and handling of Communications Security (COMSEC) material and associated records, reports, and audits. Serves as the Client Platform Administrator (CPA).
You will be responsible for all account matters associated with receipting, handling, issuing and the safeguarding for all COMSEC cryptographic documents, devices and equipment.
You will conduct secure equipment (e.g., secure telephone and encryption devices) and classified keying material inventories, inspections and other COMSEC related support functions.
You will conduct inventories per agency policy and reports any discrepancy to higher authority.
You will courier classified information and author receipt for classified COMSEC materials.
You will provide guidance on compliance with Department of the Navy (DoN) COMSEC standards to LEs by providing security education and training on operating procedures.
You will ensure the Automated Information Systems Security requirements related to COMSEC duties are complied with.

This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code COMSEC Manager, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

This is a Security Cooperation Workforce (SCW) position and requires a DoD SCW Certification. Selectee must obtain and maintain certification within prescribed timeframes.
For the NT-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: interpreting information, operations, and physical security concepts, procedures, and practices to analyze and investigate security issues, recommend solutions, and advise personnel on the handling and safeguarding of classified materials in accordance with security guidelines and regulations.
For the NT-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 pay band (GS-9/10 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying information, operations, and physical security concepts, procedures, and practices to identify security issues and recommend solutions on the handling and safeguarding of classified materials in accordance with security guidelines and regulations.
