Client Onboarding Sr Analyst

The Client Onboarding Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Definition & Management:
    • Collaborate with decision-makers, system owners, and end-users to comprehensively define, document, and manage business, financial, and operational requirements. This includes translating high-level business needs into detailed functional and non-functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
    • Lead requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and interviews, utilizing various techniques to elicit clear, concise, and verifiable business needs.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), and Use Cases.
  • Systems Analysis & Solution Design:
    • Identify, establish, and analyze the scope and parameters of systems to define outcome criteria and measurement actions.
    • Conduct thorough analysis of existing business processes, identify capability gaps, and propose appropriate data sources, interfaces, and process changes to address these gaps.
    • Evaluate potential solutions, assess their impact on business operations and systems, and recommend optimal approaches.
  • Reporting & Communication:
    • Generate and compile insightful reports based on findings, including probable causes, impact analyses, and potential solutions to system and business issues.
    • Consistently demonstrate clear, concise, and influential written and verbal communication, effectively conveying complex information to diverse audiences, from technical teams to senior leadership.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory:
    • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors, ensuring alignment and understanding throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Provide expert advice and counsel related to technology or operations, ensuring adherence to essential procedures and contributing to the definition of organizational standards.
    • Filter, prioritize, and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources, managing conflicting requirements and driving consensus among stakeholders.
  • Project & SDLC Involvement:
    • Actively participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from initiation and planning through testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
    • Utilize SDLC tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps) to track requirements, manage tasks, document progress, and facilitate team collaboration.
  • Risk Management & Compliance:
    • Appropriately assess and mitigate risks when making business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the organization, its clients, and assets.
    • Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to organizational policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or a related role within the financial services industry, preferably with exposure to Custody Account Services.
  • Proven experience in writing detailed business requirements (e.g., BRDs, FSDs, user stories) and managing them through the project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving techniques.

Technical & Methodological Skills:

  • Aptitude in various requirements gathering methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and process modeling techniques (e.g., BPMN, flowcharts).
  • Proficiency with SDLC tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms for requirements management, task tracking, and documentation.
  • Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to work with large datasets, extract insights, and define data requirements for system integrations.
  • Familiarity with database concepts and SQL for data querying and validation is a plus.

Interpersonal & Communication Skills:

  • Proven interpersonal, diplomatic, and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and negotiate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical and business information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, conduct presentations, and lead discussions with confidence and authority.
