Castle Biosciences Inc. is growing, and we are looking to hire a Customer Service Specialist working remotely from your home office based in the USA, with a start date of October 17, 2025.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Customer Service Specialist

This role is responsible for answering incoming telephone and email inquiries from patients, clinicians, insurance companies, and sales managers, assisting with insurance billing questions, and educating callers on reimbursement processes, billing policies, required documentation for appeals, and addressing concerns. The position will also place outgoing calls or emails to obtain required information, review and resolve front-end claim issues for timely submission, and process EOBs, remittance advice, and denial letters by assigning appropriate ANSI codes and taking necessary action in the billing system. Additional responsibilities include contacting insurance companies for missing information or claim status, utilizing payer portals for follow-up, posting payments, submitting documentation to support claim adjudication, and reviewing medical records for medical necessity. The role also investigates payer trends, manages billing-related work queues, and identifies changes to insurance processing requirements. Primary activities include handling incoming inquiries, making outbound communications, and reviewing incoming mail and emails.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of three years of customer service experience, preferably in a call center environment
• Minimum of two years of health insurance billing with experience in identifying and resolving claim issues
• Experience collaborating with patients, providers, and insurance plans throughout the billing cycle
• Experience researching and utilizing payor websites
• Certification in Medical Billing and/or Coding or equivalent experience
• Must demonstrate the ability to type 35 WPM with 90% or higher accuracy.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• Less than 5% travel, as needed for training and meetings.

SCHEDULE

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, non-exempt position, working remotely from your home office based in the USA.
