Project Coordinator

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator assists with overall project performance and status from start to finish and in accordance with schedule, specifications, and budget. They manage cost, schedule, safety, and quality, and keep the Project Manager well-informed of progress, discrepancies, questions, and any impacts on project plan and schedule.
Our ideal candidate is a motivated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator with a minimum of 3 years' experience in utility construction, specifically URD (Underground Residential Distribution) projects. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively, and collaborate well to achieve project goals. Experience with street lighting installations is a strong asset, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving, safety, and continuous learning.
Duties & Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders
- Assist in planning and preparing schedules and milestones
- Comply and ensure work is performed in compliance with applicable legislation and company policies
- Maintain departmental and network databases
- Participate in document control
- Assist the project team to meet project objectives
- Coordinate with the project team to plan and prepare construction schedules
- Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions
- Assists in budget analysis, cost and margin projections
- Track, interpret, analyze, and report on project data
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on project needs

Education Requirements:
- A Degree or Diploma in the following would be considered an asset:
- Project Management
- Construction Management
- Electrical Technologist
- The following certifications/designations are considered an asset:
Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Electrical or Civil Project Coordinator in the utility construction industry, with a strong focus on URD projects required
- Proficient knowledge and understanding of:
- Contract management
- Construction scheduling, planning, and execution
- Blueprint reading
- Procurement
- Project design interpretation
- Financial statements – read and comprehend
- Established construction practices, procedures, and techniques
- Applicable local and provincial labour codes
- Business operations processes
- Organization and time management
- Previous experience working with ERP systems such as JD Edwards (Oracle) is preferred
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, and Teams
- Willing and able to travel to sites around Calgary, and surrounding area
- Valid Driver's License, with clean Abstract
Construction Safety Certifications including the following are required:
- Ground Disturbance Certification
- First Aid
- CSTS
