Manager, Cosmetics Account Coordinators

This position will be based in Charlotte and will require travel up to 80% of the time.

The Manager, Cosmetics Account Coordinators manages/coaches/develops the Belk Account Coordinator team and coordinates all retail activities relating to their vendor lines in all stores carrying the vendor's merchandise. This role serves as the liaison for Belk and the vendor and will uphold the standards set forth by Belk Stores. This role supports development and sales performance for all Account Coordinators.

Sales & Financial Productivity

  • Meet and/or exceed line specific annual sales plan for responsible locations and lead the Account Coordinators to do the same in their areas/stores.
  • Develop teams through regular, quality store visits and one-on-ones with focus on achievement of sales and productivity goals and retailer/brand sales objectives.
  • Manage/lead/influence team in driving sales, excellent customer service and quantifying the team's ability to meet and/or exceed sales goals.
  • Utilize and demonstrate solid understanding of sales, product knowledge, events, operations, retail market and cosmetic industry to keep business and team moving forward by capturing consumer insights/sales trends/traffic patterns and using learnings to influence optimization of the AC field operation.
  • Deliver effective sales coaching: modeling observing and providing feedback to ensure effective delivery of sales techniques for varying consumer profiles/store segmentations, including cross selling techniques for new customers to ensure sales goal achievement.
  • Analyze and evaluate how the team is using training knowledge to drive sales and demonstrate the ability to identify top performers to develop future bench, as well as recognize and coach opportunities for improvement.
  • Create and maintain strategic cross-functional partnerships within Belk and brand communities.
  • Develop good working relationships with Belk/Brand field leadership and Store leadership to recognize opportunities that are consistent with the company's strategic direction.
  • Partner with Belk/Brands to develop and execute innovative in-store events and use learnings to maximize effectiveness of the SPM calendar.
  • Interview, hire and manage AC behavioral and sales performance (including annual performance review) utilizing scorecard metrics, NSE/sales reports and visit observations to determine future development of team.
  • Analyze the business and identify sales goals/targets to be set, proactively anticipate, and rectify obstacles to goal achievement using critical problem-solving skills, target specific KPI's relevant to the business, strategize client engagement to attract, convert, and retain clients.

Visit stores regularly (minimum - in store 5 days a week) 6 hours per visit with clear brand focus

  • Interact with Account Coordinators, Sales Associates, ASMs, STMs and Store Manager during store visits.
  • Maintain consistent verbal and written communication with Belk field/corporate leadership and line specific field executives.
  • Present and participate on weekly leadership call with Belk VP/buyer and vendor leadership.
  • Attend and present (as required) internal and vendor specific business meetings.

Merchandise Presentation & Promotions

  • Follow established visual merchandising concepts as published by Belk Corporate Visual.
  • Ensure timely floor setup for promotional events and seasonal business activities.
  • Inspect counter standards to include cleanliness, counter set up compared to current vendor schematics and stockrooms (damages, RTVs, organization and cleanliness)

People Development

  • Conducting timely reviews and communicating development needs to team. Set goals and identify areas for improvement.
  • Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and retaining quality associates while ensuring all positions are filled in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining high morale through efficient, timely communications of policies and other information. Follow through on all concerns or problems that develop within the store.

Education / Experience Requirements:

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience in retail environment
  • Expertise in a business/functional area
  • 1-3 years supervisory experience
  • Beauty retail experience
