Customer Relations Associate

The Customer Relations Associate performs various customer service activities, to include greeting and acknowledging all customers in a prompt and friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, providing information and direction to customers.

Essential functions include securing all firearms brought into the store with trigger locks, checking in all vendor representatives, completing the necessary visitor log information and controlling visitor badges, and supporting a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensuring a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.

Additional duties include greeting all customers as they enter the store in a friendly and outgoing manner, handling customer's merchandise returns, completing refund/exchange paperwork, sorting returns by category and returning to the proper area, selling appropriate hunting and fishing licenses, and handling and administering all incentive and reward programs.

The associate must remain product knowledgeable, aware of advertised sales, and keep work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies. They must follow all company policies and procedures, and provide a legendary experience for every customer, every time by assisting customers in making buying decisions.

Experience/qualifications required include a minimum degree of high school diploma or equivalent experience. Knowledge, skills, and ability include calculating figures, communicating in a friendly and professional manner, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, and operating a computerized point of sale register system.

Travel requirements are not applicable. Physical requirements include constantly standing and/or walking during shift, constantly communicating with others to exchange information, constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, etc., occasionally working in low or high temperatures, occasionally working in noisy environments, and light work that includes constantly lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds, occasionally moving and lifting objects up to 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed).

Independent judgment is required to perform tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
