Position overview:

In this role, you will provide comprehensive technical service and support to Ball BCE customers within your allocated regions, including accounts where you are identified as the Technical Key Account Manager. You will also provide technical support to the Sales and Manufacturing functions in your assigned countries, and you will work closely with all relevant Ball functions to develop and implement more cost-effective Ball products.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • As the main regional Customer Quality contact, you will ensure complaints and product issues are identified, tracked and resolved. You will do this working in cooperation with Commercial, Manufacturing and Planning functions.
  • Managing a group of CTS Engineers at Ball facilities in allocated countries
  • Provide an all-inclusive technical support service to Ball BCE customers in allocated countries
  • Represent Ball BCE Customer Technical Services Group in allocated Ball/Industry technical groups
  • Progression of customer approvals on cost reduction products without having an adverse effect on filling site performance or the performance of Ball components in the Trade
  • To control all aspects of spending to work within agreed budgetary spending
  • Provide support in the development of new products being developed by Ball and/or Ball customers
  • Where allocated, represent Ball on Industry/Trade bodies on specification reviews/updates which may affect the performance characteristics of Ball components

What are we looking for?

  • Degree in Engineering or a Technical discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on training and coaching teams
  • Experience liaising with external customers
  • Proficiency in managing information through computerized systems
  • Fluent in spoken and written English required
  • Knowledge and experience of working to External Quality and Environmental Standards (e.g., ISO 9001:2000 / 14001) desirable
  • Experience in high-speed, high-volume continuous manufacturing processes desirable
  • Specialized machine training (filling, sealing) desirable
  • Solid understanding of modern lean manufacturing techniques (SMED, Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, Structured Problem Solving, TPM/OEE, SPC, Six Sigma) desirable
