What You Will Contribute:
The Field Support Technician is primarily responsible for providing field support to customers by supervising installation, performing testing, and troubleshooting of Water Quality and flow measurement systems for water treatment, wastewater treatment, and other facilities and related infrastructure.
In addition, the technician may perform in-field cellular coverage related confirmation. This job will require the individual to work on a utility customer's property working with utility assets, documenting the work in work order applications and other software. This position must take pride in the work they perform, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, be able to understand and execute written and verbal instructions, make sound decisions and escalate questions when appropriate.
This is a field based position in and around the DFW area, with regular trips to San Antonio.
Job Duties:
- Assist in installation of water quality and flow measurement equipment.
- Capture and record all required installation data through work order application and/or other software as required.
- Complete warranty work which may also include site surveys, quality control/field inspections of 3rd party installations, firmware updates, meter reading / data collection and field troubleshooting of product issues and concerns.
- Install utility sensors, hardware, and AMR/AMI endpoints.
- Represent Badger Meter and the Utility in a professional manner at all times by wearing clean uniform, conducting business in a professional manner, and using appropriate language and communicating effectively.
- Work in a safe manner, following all safety procedures, rules, and guidelines; wear/use appropriate safety gear; and operate vehicles and equipment in a legal and safe manner.
- Travel to customer sites as needed and stay on-site for extended periods of time.
Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree Electronics, IT, Network Technology or other field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in a related field desired
Qualifications:
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office required
- Basic skills with WOM (Word of Mouth Marketing) preferred
- Ability to work safely in reasonably inclement weather, utilize good judgement to insure safety and to avoid property damage required
- Ability to work well with little supervision required

Working Conditions:
- Work is performed indoors/outdoors; may be exposed to heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
- Must be able to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to work 10+ hours per day as necessary. This will be less than 20% of days worked.
