Our mission at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is to serve, protect and advance the citizens and industries in the state with quality motor vehicle related services. Performs moderately complex (journey-level) consultative service and technical assistance work for the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV), Motor Vehicle Division (MVD). Work involves disseminating information, maintaining filing and record-keeping systems, and performing internal and external administrative support work. Provides customer service for both internal and external customers. Responds to customer inquiries both verbally and in writing. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Knowledge – Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures; knowledge of customer service techniques.
Skill – Skill in the use of standard office equipment and software; skill in customer service and providing accurate, timely information to internal and external customers; skill in written and verbal communications.
Abilities – Ability to communicate effectively; ability to gather, correlate, and analyze information, ability to valuate the effectiveness of new administrative systems and procedures, ability to set work priorities, ability to collaborate with a team effectively.
Education and Experience
Education - Graduation from standard high school or equivalent required.
Experience - Minimum four (4) years’ responsible clerical, or administrative support experience using a computer.
Licensure and/or Certification – If driving is required, must possess a valid driver’s license from state of residence.
Regulatory Knowledge and – Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly assimilate information related to TxDMV, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures.

Registration, Certification and/or Licensure
A valid Class "C" driver's license is required. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within ninety (90) days after entering Texas as a new resident. A satisfactory driving record is required for operating state or personal vehicles to conduct department business.
