Program Manager

Program Manager is responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and motivating agile project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering agile projects that provide exceptional business value to users. Key responsibilities include defining project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organizing and leading project status and working meetings; preparing and distributing progress reports; managing risks and issues; correcting deviations from plans; and performing delivery planning for assigned projects. Additionally, the role involves assisting in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members. The Program Manager partners with Manager, Digital Experience Support to drive the adoption of new digital processes and technologies. They ensure training programs and support systems are in place to assist employees in adapting to digital changes. They also define and manage a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile execution and delivery. The Program Manager promotes empowerment of the team, ensuring that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourages a sustainable pace with high levels of quality for the team. They support the Product Owner in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance.

Job requirements include a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or business. The candidate should have a solid understanding of the system development life cycle. Knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices is required, along with the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment. Proven track of successful implementation of software or web development projects using Agile methodologies including 5+ years of experience as a Program Manager managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams is necessary. Experience overseeing multi-functional project teams with at least 10-15 team members is also required. A sufficient level of technical background to provide highly-credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues is needed. The candidate should have the ability to provide leadership to business analysts and collaborate with customers to develop strategies and solutions of high business value. Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills are essential.
