Logistics Customer Service
This role involves managing daily freight movements across North American fulfillment centers and associated networks. This is a great opportunity for individuals passionate about transportation and customer service to contribute to a high-growth area.
Responsibilities
- Provide tactical communication and account management with external customers, including carriers and vendors/suppliers.
- Pull and analyze data from various databases using tools such as Excel, Access, and SQL for ad hoc reporting.
- Review appointment and arrival data, making business decisions and process improvements based on findings.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, creating narratives of weekly findings and presenting them in review forums.
- Work within time constraints to meet critical business needs and measure performance activities.
- Lead initiatives to re-engineer business processes, identifying and eliminating defects to enhance transportation operations.
- Escalate problems or variances in data to relevant teams, ensuring resolutions are delivered.
- Develop performance metrics to drive business results.
- Scope out business and functional requirements for tech teams to create and enhance software systems and tools.
- Understand the business impact of trends and make informed decisions based on available data.
Essential Skills
- Strong customer service skills with an operations focus.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Excel.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in logistics, transportation, intermodal, supply chain, and freight.
- Ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in transportation and logistics is a plus but not required.
- Customer service experience in conflict resolution and managing customer accounts.
- Analytical experience is beneficial, especially in resolving issues from various inputs.
Work Environment
This position requires working 100% in-office. Training hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, for the first two weeks. After training, the hours remain Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, Tennessee.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
