As a Technician II, Production Technical Operations (LS1), you will be responsible for operating automated manufacturing and packaging equipment to produce, package, and sterilize contact lenses in accordance with established procedures. You will play a vital role in ensuring that all products meet the required quality standards, while adhering to GMP, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Data Integrity, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Operating manufacturing equipment to produce and/or package contact lenses.
• Operating autoclave to sterilize contact lenses.
• Ensuring contact lenses are manufactured to the best quality level possible.
• Performing activities in compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices in a controlled and regulated environment.
• Ensuring compliance with Data Integrity such that information is attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original and accurate.
• Performing all production activities at various stages under cleanroom environment and working as a team with cross-functional team members to achieve production targets in compliance with GMP, quality and safety requirements. Handling production tasks and ensuring daily target and highest product quality are achieved.

Major Accountabilities

• Maintaining the quality standard of Contact Lens manufacturing.
• Meeting the yield, equipment performance and uptime of the LTs being assigned.
• Performing IPC such as Visual Lens Inspection and Operator Packaging check.
• Scheduling contact lenses to be sterilized within 12 hrs.
• Performing simple machine setup e.g. Ink change.
• Supporting maintenance activities and troubleshooting machine issues.
• Maintaining 5S in the production floor.
• Participating in Kaizen project for continuous improvement in manufacturing performance.

Note: The following physical activities must also be performed repeatedly throughout the shift:

• Push rolling carts weighing 300KG.
• Perform inspection of lenses under increased lighting and magnification.
• Perform GxP cleaning and production end waste disposal.
• Transfer magazines between transfer carts (3.05KG per magazine, average 100 to 200 magazine per shift)

What You'll Bring to Alcon:

• NITEC in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or other equivalent engineering disciplines.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in production operations, GMP/GDP-regulated manufacturing, or related industries.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment is an advantage.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work on rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
