Administrative Representative II

Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee. This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.

DEPARTMENT: Finance

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

LOCATION: City Hall - 632 W 6th Ave, 3rd Floor

Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation, at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head. Not all positions are eligible for remote work (telecommuting) per PandP 40-40.

Job Responsibilities

The Administrative Representative II will serve as the primary point of contact for customer service at the front counter, via email, and over the phone. This position performs a full range of office clerical tasks, including initiating customer contact, by phone or business letter when pertinent information or documentation is required. Processing address change requests and explaining the necessary requirements needed to process and change real property ownership updates. The representative will also assist the public in understanding the requirements for residential, senior citizen/disabled veteran, military service, and widower exemptions. They will be responsible for maintaining, filing, copying, and scanning all necessary documents for current and historical data. Receive, date stamp, and distribute incoming division mail and route to the appropriate department on a daily basis. Provide all aspects of project support to division supervisors and co-workers which include retrieving records in a public records request, retrieving an exemption application or organizing records such as exemption application. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and two (2) years of customer service experience or equivalent. Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire. Preference: Alaska Association of Assessing Officers (AAAO) Assessment Administration.
