Medical Screener - Reception Technician (customer Service

Responsibilities:

• Greet donors at the plasma collection center and conduct registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process.
• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process.
• Assess self-administered health history, answer medical questions, refer to medical staff when appropriate, and perform health screening procedures.
• Perform finger stick to obtain blood sample for hematocrit and total protein levels.
• Educate new donors on therapeutic products made from donated plasma.
• Register applicant and transfer donors based on training and operational needs.
• Answer telephones and transfer calls to appropriate staff.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify appropriate staff.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system.
• Understand policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs.
• Maintain clean and efficient work environment.
• Promote safety in all actions.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
