This position reports to: End User Area Sales Manager

As the Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the California sales team. You will also provide assistance to customers, distributors, and colleagues to meet assigned objectives of the business unit.

Your Responsibilities

Develop cost-effective, competitive proposals by interpreting drawings/specifications, offering value engineering solutions, and delivering complete packages within tight deadlines.

Analyze quotes, job designs, and material requirements to identify discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure profitability and pricing accuracy.

Support sales strategy execution by managing SPAs, understanding market pricing, influencing specifications, and identifying opportunities to maximize market share and margins.

Provide end-to-end customer and order support, including invoicing coordination in SAP, order status updates, change orders, issue resolution, and acting as a trusted escalation point.

Drive business growth through customer engagement, training, presentations, cross-selling, CRM tracking and analysis, competitive intelligence, and relationship building with new and existing customers.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years of sales experience) and at least 10 years of experience in the electrical industry.

Customer-focused professional with a proven ability to respond quickly to customer needs and deliver high-quality service.

Strong oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders.

Technical proficiency in application support, take-offs, proposal development, and use of analytical software and sales tools; experience with contractors and channel partners is a plus.

Ability and willingness to maintain a valid driver's license and must have work authorization to work for ABB in the United States.

ABB provides 11 paid holidays. Vacation is provided based on years of service for hourly and non-exempt positions. Salaried exempt positions are provided vacation under a permissive time away policy.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $100,000 and $143,000 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
