Service Desk Agent – Making a Difference from Day One

At ABB, we help industries run leaner and cleaner—and every person here makes that happen. You'll be empowered to lead, supported to grow, and proud of the impact we create together. Join us and help run what runs the world.

As a Service Desk Agent, you will be the first point of contact for companies that keep Europe supplied with energy and drive the green transition. Your support helps customers operate safely, reliably, and efficiently—and the service you deliver shapes their entire experience of ABB.

From our modern office in Bergen (Kokstad), you will handle inquiries, resolve issues, or forward them to the right specialist teams, ensuring that issues are driven towards resolution. The role combines customer contact, coordination, problem-solving, and communication. You will also participate in our 24/7 watch rotation with the rest of the team.

This is an influential role: you represent ABB externally while ensuring that the customer's voice is heard internally within the organization. You will be responsible for delivering first-class support with a strong customer approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, resolve, or forward customer inquiries (phone, email, chat) with a focus on clear communication, correct distribution, and follow-up
  • Coordinate from start to finish with internal teams to ensure SLAs are met (escalations, follow-up, closure, and quality assurance)
  • Update and maintain contact lists, routing tables, and knowledge articles, using feedback for continuous improvement
  • Contribute to outbound activities such as service messages, information campaigns, and cross-divisional coordination
  • Participate in tasks that support the daily operations of the Service Desk
  • Be involved in shaping the role and development of the Service Desk as we grow

What You Bring With You:

We value customer orientation, teamwork, clear communication, and the ability to stay calm in a hectic environment. Both technical background and customer service experience can be relevant.

You likely have:

  • Experience from a customer-oriented role (service desk/customer center, customer operations, field/customer service) or technical background in electro, telecom, or automation (operations, commissioning, instrumentation/control rooms, telecom infrastructure)
  • Confidence in using general IT tools (M365) and the ability to navigate multiple business systems (e.g., Remedy, CRM/ERP, collaboration platforms, knowledge bases)
  • The ability to prioritize, communicate clearly, and remain calm during high-traffic periods
  • A proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving and workflow
  • Strong ownership and execution skills—both in assigned and self-initiated tasks
  • Fluent Norwegian and good English, both written and spoken
  • Relevant certifications, higher education, or equivalent practical experience

If you don't meet all the points but believe your strengths fit the role, we still encourage you to apply. We value diverse skills and different perspectives.

What We Offer at ABB:

  • Competitive terms with solid pension and insurance schemes
  • Good learning and development opportunities, with career paths in a global technology corporation
  • Access to broad ABB expertise across divisions and technologies
  • Modern workplace at Kokstad and a supportive, inclusive team culture
  • Focus on safety, quality, continuous learning, and collaboration

Does This Sound Interesting to You?

We look forward to receiving your application and CV by April 19, 2026. Please note that we can only accept applications submitted via our online career portal. Email applications must be deleted and will not be processed due to privacy requirements.
