The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As the Americas Key Account Manager Energy Vertical, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Driving sales, promoting 3M products, and developing a robust opportunity pipeline with market including key accounts in energy companies across the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Latin America.
  • Understanding key account customer's entire supply chain and collaborating with Tier suppliers.
  • Defining and executing strategic direction aligned to corporate and portfolio business goals.
  • Building and maintaining a strong opportunity pipeline through long-term relationships with the market to meet sales targets.
  • Strong ability in interpreting customer needs related to upstream oil and gas applications, reservoir characteristics, and production challenges, to support R&D and application engineering teams.
  • Communicating the technical aspects and value proposition of sand control solutions effectively to customers.
  • Proven ability demonstrating and executing the sales cycle.
  • Supporting key accounts in well-on-paper discussions alongside the application engineering team.
  • Reporting key account challenges, technology gaps, and market insights to support portfolio strategies and new product development.
  • Providing support for contract negotiations to Area commercial team.

The Americas key account manager will report directly to the global key account Leader.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree of higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years of experience in upstream oil and gas, with demonstrated expertise in well completions and/or sand control operations in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed further in this role include:

  • Multilingual – English with Spanish and or Portuguese
  • Experience in creating annual account growth plans & working with Salesforce
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Strong understanding of sand control technologies, well completion processes, and the oil and gas industry
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams and global teams
  • Experience in key account management
  • Experience in working with government or semi-government agencies
  • Familiar with CCUS, underground Hydrogen storage, Geothermal applications
  • Ability to travel to LATAM

This role is pivotal in driving 3M's growth in the energy sector by leveraging technical expertise and strategic account management skills.

  • Remote

Travel: May include up to 20% domestic/international

The expected compensation range for this position is $188,251 - $230,084, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
